Minnesota Aquarium Society Presents Ruth Francis-Floyd (online)

April 1, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Managing fish disease in the home aquarium can be very challenging. Many entry level aquarists do not understand why their fish may be sick, and consequently may use a plethora of drugs to treat unidentified illnesses – often with poor results. This presentation will review the process of determining why a fish may be sick and review common “do no harm” strategies to provide quality nursing care at home. The main points to be addressed will include when (and how) to locate professional help, how to use clean water and environmental management to mitigate some health problems, and proper use of salinity adjustments to help stabilize sick fish. There will be time for questions and answers following the short presentation.
